JLIF Acquires Peterborough Hospital Equity

John Laing Infrastructure Fund, advised by Newbridge (then trading as Centrus Capital), on 13 April 2013 acquired a 30% interest in Peterborough Hospital from Brookfield Infrastructure Partners (BIP), one of the primary sponsors on the PFI which reached financial close in July 2007.

The hospital was financed through the issuance of GBP 396m of senior secured bonds due 2042 paying a coupon of 5.58%, issued by Peterborough (Progress Health) plc, which is now owned by subsidiaries of JLIF (30%), InfraRed Infrastructure Fund II (49%) and Macquarie owned Macquarie Peterborough Hospital Investments Limited (21%).
